Designed to mimic an ornate hanging chandelier and created with Art Deco and Middle Eastern influences, chandelier earrings originally held vertical dangling strands of glass crystals, rhinestones, diamonds or other sparkling jewels. Now chandelier earrings are an everyday fashion staple. Short, mid-length, long or even lightly brushing the shoulder, chandelier earrings can be dressed up or down depending on the design, length and materials selected.
Go boho chic with longer earrings made from beads and lightweight woods while a shorter design crafted from silver or gold and accented with subtle gemstones is a good choice for casual daywear. And while some fashion experts believe chandelier earrings don’t present a professional look, others say as long as they are understated and additional jewelry is kept to a minimum they are fine worn with office attire.
